The 2023 Solvang Danish Days theme – “Kom Sammen” (“Come Together” in English) – will be celebrated during this year’s event, which honors the 1911 establishment of Solvang by Danish-Americans. The 2023 edition of Solvang Danish Days marks the 86th return of the beloved, annual cultural affair.
Solvang Danish Days, which honors the 1911 establishment of Solvang by Danish-Americans, continues to expand upon its varied activities melding more modern Danish practices with traditional ways, yet still exemplifying everything Danish. The weekend’s numerous offerings, encompassing activities for all ages, range from fan-favorite food events surrounding Aebleskiver, the iconic Danish pastry rounds; to a Danish-style beer and wine garden serving Danish import, Carlsberg beer, alongside local brews and wines; to “living history” at the Elverhoj Museum; to an axe throwing arena; a LEGO Building Competition; to story time sessions with Hans Christian Andersen; a guided Solvang Food & Photo Tour; an Old World artisanal crafts marketplace; and more…
General admission to Solvang Danish Days is free* and entertainment options abound during the weekend with three parades, folk dancers and Danish musicians performing in locations all over town, plus FREE outdoor concerts in downtown Solvang.
