All of the wines produced by CrossHatch Winery are co-fermented blends sourced from Santa Barbara County vineyards. Some of the best and oldest wines in the world are made this way, but with the micro-climates of Santa Barbara it really adds another layer to the process. Co-fermentation brings out and creates flavors in the wine that would not have existed otherwise. This makes the CrossHatch wine truly one of a kind.

The vineyards of Lucas & Lewellen are located in the three wine growing valleys of Santa Barbara County: Santa Ynez Valley, Los Alamos Valley, and the Santa Maria Valley. These valley vineyards benefit from a rare transverse mountain range topography, an east-west orientation which channels the cool ocean air of the Pacific into the coastal valleys, allowing warm days and cool nights, to produce a long, gentle growing season.
